FAQ — Family Ready Coach

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about family preparedness and my services

I’m not based in the United States—do you still offer family ready coaching?
Yes. I work with families worldwide. I’ve lived in London, Paris, and Vienna and have traveled through 30+ countries across Europe and Asia. For each client, I do extra research on local risks, alert systems, emergency numbers, and reliable supply sources so your plan fits your city and culture.

Sessions are scheduled in your time zone.
Materials are delivered in English (bilingual/local resources added when available).
Is this just for "preppers" or extreme scenarios?
No. Most clients are busy parents who want calm, practical readiness for likely events (fire, earthquake, storm, smoke days, outages). Zero doomsday, zero bunkers—just a simple plan that fits your home and budget.
What exactly do we get after a session?
You leave with four deliverables, built live:
  • Tailored 72-hour family plan (PDF)
  • One-page Family Comms Card (print + phone)
  • Two 15-minute practice drills (blackout & smoke day)
  • 7-day follow-up checklist and email support
How is this different from Ready.gov or YouTube?
Free guides are general. Coaching is personal. I translate best-practice guidance into a plan for your apartment, kids, routines, and local hazards—then we practice it together so it sticks.
Will you make us buy lots of gear? Do you sell kits?
No and no. I'm gear-neutral and budget-smart. We start with what you already own, add a few low-cost items if needed, and avoid unnecessary purchases. I don't sell products or take commissions.
We rent and have limited storage—can this still work?
Absolutely. I specialize in city homes: under-bed kits, multi-use items, no-drill options, and renter-friendly evacuation and reunion plans for your building and neighborhood.
How much time does this take, and what does it cost?
The Family Readiness Strategy Session is a single 90-minute video call. Within 72 hours of the call, I will send your your personalized emergency plan.
Which risks do you plan for in my city?
We focus on the most likely local hazards (e.g., earthquake, wildfire smoke, heat, storm, flood, outage) and your building's specifics—stairs, elevators, shutoffs, and neighborhood reunion points.
Can you help with babies, elders, disabilities, and medications?
Yes. We tailor plans for mobility, sensory needs, caregiver roles, and medication storage/rotation—always deferring to your clinician's guidance.
What about pets?
We include pet go-kits, carriers, vet records, and hotel/shelter options that accept animals, plus who feeds/walks pets if you're delayed.
Do you offer in-person help?
Sessions are on Zoom so I can support families anywhere. I occasionally host local workshops; join the newsletter for dates.
We co-parent or have two homes—can you cover both?
Yes. We build a plan that works across households with shared contacts, pickup rules, and clear reunion points.
Do you coordinate with schools, sitters, or caregivers?
We create a simple handoff sheet and text templates so schools and caregivers know how to reach you and where to meet if plans change.
How do you handle our personal information?
Your info stays private and is used only to build your plan. You can request deletion of shared details at any time.
Rescheduling and refunds
You can reschedule up to 24 hours beforehand. If you’re not satisfied with your deliverables, email within 7 days for a make-good or refund. No refunds for no-shows (including arrivals more than 10 minutes late). Emergencies considered case-by-case if you email within 24 hours.
Do you offer sessions in other languages?
Currently, sessions are in English. If you need interpretation, we can discuss options during booking.
